Big vs Small Blogs

Posted by User ImageKushMoney in My Thoughts

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

First I will like to say sorry to my readers about yesterday. I meant to write a post before I left. I spent time with the family.

Questions I have been thinking about and seen around the net.

  • Which is better to read, big blog or small blog?

Big blog has gone through the growth and post got info but now has very little info on their niche vs a small blog that the blogger spends a lot of his/her time on research before making his/her post.

  • What makes a blog small, middle, or big?

We all know what makes a small blog. What makes a blog mid level or big blogs? Many say that TylerCruz & JohnCow are big blogs. But if you take a look at blogs like Problogger & Entrepreneurs Journey. This blogs are truly big with over 20-40k readers. I even ran across a blog that had over 100k readers but I don’t remember the url. In my eyes these are the true big blogs. My blog maybe small but I know where this blog is headed.

Those are the 2 questions I have had in my head for awhile. The main question that stays in my head is how many readers to become a mid level blog or a big blog. In my head a blog becomes a big blog when it has 10k+ readers. So that leaves the question of how many readers it take to be a mid level blog. Even if KushMoney reach 1,000 readers I will still feel that this is a small blog.

My Views On Blog Size.

  • Small Size Blog: 0 - 4,999 readers
  • Mid Size Blog 5,000 - 9,999 readers
  • Big Size Blogs 10,000+ readers

These are my thoughts about blogs. Everybody has their own view on things. If I had my way, all my readers would subscribe via email so I know they get every post I publish. They can subscribe and read every post or one day check their email and they find some really great information that they was looking for. My big goal for this blog is 100k readers within 5 years or maybe 10 years.

I close with these last words. “Stay true to yourself, stay true to your blog, and you will be successful.”

Small Blogs And Advertisement

Posted by User ImageKushMoney in My Thoughts

Today I am going to talk about which is better for small blogs when it comes to advertisement. Should a blogger have an “your ad here” or his/her own advertisement in place until advertisers buy an ad slot. I want to clear it up and help other small blogs.

I seen many small blogs with 125×125 ad slots with these type of ads. Many think that this is the right way to do things. Some do it because they don’t want to place their own ads on their blog. This can work in some cases and in others you are hurting your blog because no advertiser wants to be the first to advertise.

My way to help other small blogs. I like to network with others and see how we can help each other grow our blogs. No matter if we are blogging about the same niche or not. Look more professional, keep advertisement on your blog with advertisers or not. Place this banner in your ad slot until you find an advertiser to replace it.

Any bloggers that would like to network or just have a free ad slot open place my banner on your blog. You have an 125×125 ad you would like for me to place on my blog until one of my advertisers buy the slot. Let me know, please have my 125×125 ad on your blog/website before emailing me your request to get your ad on my blog. 468×60 is also available. More sizes will be available soon keep updated on that by checking this about kushmoney.

Tomorrow I will go over how to get advertisers to advertise on your blog and talk out prices with them. Some may ask me how do I know this if I don’t have any advertisers. I gave TNX.net a free month 125×125 ad for being the first to pay for an paid review. I am also talking with a few advertisers about ad slots, amount of months, prices, and terms.
