Playing online poker can be very fun and profitable until face up against an opponent that goes all in almost every hand. This can really bring down your chip stack by folding every hand as the blinds keep coming around and if you are in a tournament and the ante began. That’s killing your chip stack every single hand.
So what to do against a all in opponent. It’s pretty simple however, you risk losing a big part of your chip stack or if you short stack, you risk losing your chip stack. One out of three times a player will hit their card on the flop. With that being said you want to be ahead preflop when you push all in with your opponent.
Most would recommend playing AA or AK. However, I believe the best option against an all in player is simply by playing pair pockets. You don’t need to wait on AA. Even a pair of deuces would do it but you want the best hand. I recommend looking at which position you are in when you get selected pocket pairs. This all plays a role in being successful at knocking down your all in opponent chip stack.
Great training for this is playing in a all in or fold tournament on an online poker room. I recommend playing a few all in or fold sit n go’s at Reefer Poker. So whenever you in a tight spot in a tournament and want to double up your chip stack from that all in opponent. Take your time and pick the right cards to push all in with. I’m that player will not see you coming.
Remember, let your desire drive your motivation and everything will work out.
