Question #1
KushMoney: What gave you the idea to start a hosting company?
Robert: Rick and I back in 2006 were brainstorming on ways to make money online, and this was back when we were still in high school. I was still fairly new to CPanel, but had used it to start my own online video game community. When Rick approached me with starting a web hosting company I was extremely ready to give it a shot, as at the time I was into developing new websites.
At the time, I felt that, since I knew the main basics around CPanel, why couldn’t I resell CPanel web hosting to others? But it was not just CPanel I was pretty great at, but also troubleshooting code errors popular web scripts may encounter. Most of this experience came from simply curiosity, and I believe learning new methods on your own are the best way to learn.
After a month or two developing and advertising the website, I found myself doing the majority of the work, and my partner Rick seldom was ever online, so I decided to continue the website alone. Considering I had a passion for developing websites and managing a company, becoming a solo entrepreneur was not a problem at all.
Question #2
KushMoney: When did you start your hosting company?
Robert: We started our company in July of 2006.
Question #3
KushMoney: How did you come up with the hosting plans and prices?
Robert: The way I came up with the hosting plans and prices was generally from doing my own research. I would go around to different web hosting companies and see what they were offering and for what price. At the time I did not want to oversell or undersell on prices or packages. Additionally, I wanted to create a service that was both affordable and that had superior quality.
Question #4
KushMoney: What are your plans for the hosting company in the next 5 years?
Robert: My plans for our hosting company in the next 5 years is to own a private datacenter where we manage all our servers physically by highly trained technicians. I would also by that time would like to be considered one of the top trusted and most reliably web hosting company on the internet/offline.
Question #5
KushMoney: Do you care more about profits or customer service?
Robert: I care more about customer service. Customer service is the primary key in any business. Without quick and friendly customer service, your business will rarely reach its maximum potential. Usually having great customer service will lead to the profits you wish to receive. Considering that more people are recommending different companies by word of mouth, it would be wise to provide excellent customer service.
Question #6
KushMoney: Will you ever offer dedicated servers?
Robert: Yes, we will eventually offer dedicated servers. Currently, we are taking it one step at a time, and making sure we have every needed service in place before we move to dedicated servers. Most new companies jump right into the band wagon and offer every type of service from basic shared web hosting plans to VPS, dedicated server, and domains, however, they either lack in staff or knowledge on how to fully assist their clients.
At this point it is difficult to put a set price on a dedicated server. Dedicated servers are services that consist of many important and critical add-ons, parts, upgrades and etc. Conversely, I’m sure we will have some un-managed servers starting as low as $60.00-$70.00 per month. Currently, if we do have client asking for a dedicated server, we will contact our partners who we will be purchasing our servers from in the future, to give us a discounted price and upgrade the client to a dedicated server that way.
One of our main goals is to ensure that a client can continue to grow with our company no matter what type of website that individual wishes to start.
From Robert answers, I trust this hosting company and plan on staying with them a very long time. Making the move from anhosting to hastyhost in a few days. This is going to be great! For those of you that said you can’t afford a domain and good hosting. Well guess what? Now you got hosting for less than a gallon of gas!
